Syrian Airlines will begin operating direct scheduled flights between Damascus and both Vienna and Copenhagen from 21 September 2026, according to Syria’s General Authority of Civil Aviation and Air Transport.
The two new routes will reconnect Damascus directly with Austria and Denmark, offering travellers an easier alternative to journeys that currently require a connection through another airport.
Civil Aviation Authority President Omar Hosari said the routes form part of a gradual plan to rebuild Syria’s international air network and restore the presence of Syrian Airlines in regional and global markets.

For Syrian Guides guests travelling from Austria, Denmark and neighbouring European countries, the new services could make reaching Damascus significantly more convenient. Direct flights may reduce overall journey times and remove the need for lengthy connections through Istanbul, Amman or Gulf airports.
The announcement follows the recent resumption of direct flights connecting Damascus with Amsterdam, Berlin and Moscow, alongside the introduction of several other European services to Syrian airports.
Detailed flight schedules, operating frequency, fares and booking arrangements have not yet been published. Guests should therefore wait for the official timetable before making firm travel plans.
