Damascus and Aleppo international airports handled more than 309,000 passengers during July 2026, as passenger flights and international air connections continued to expand across Syria.
Damascus International Airport handled more than 243,000 passengers during July, making it the busiest airport in the country. It also recorded 2,088 flights during the month. The published statistics did not provide a more precise passenger total or separate the number of arrivals and departures.
The July figures represent a considerable increase in activity at Damascus Airport. In May 2026, the airport handled 148,305 passengers across 1,532 flights. This means July brought almost 95,000 additional passengers compared with May, alongside more than 500 additional flights.
Aleppo International Airport recorded 66,183 passengers during July. This included 39,361 arrivals and 26,822 departures. The airport handled 608 flights during the month, with 12 airlines operating services to and from Aleppo.
Together, the two airports handled at least 309,183 passengers across 2,696 flights in July alone. Damascus accounted for more than 243,000 passengers, while Aleppo received just over 66,000.

Aleppo Airport provides another useful option for guests beginning or ending their journey in northern Syria. Arriving directly in Aleppo can reduce unnecessary road travel and make it easier to organize itineraries covering Aleppo, Idlib, Hama and other northern destinations.
The higher passenger numbers do not mean that every route operates every day. Flight schedules continue to depend on the airline, departure city and regional airspace conditions.
