Aleppo International Airport is set to receive two new regional air connections this June, as Pegasus Airlines and Jazeera Airways join the list of carriers operating flights to the northern Syrian city.
According to the Syrian Arab News Agency, Omar Al-Husari, Head of the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Air Transport, announced that the two airlines will begin operating direct routes to Aleppo during June 2026. Pegasus Airlines is expected to connect Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport with Aleppo International Airport, while Jazeera Airways will operate direct flights between Kuwait International Airport and Aleppo.
Pegasus flights are scheduled to begin from 9 June 2026, while Jazeera Airways flights from Kuwait are expected to start from 25 June 2026, according to the same announcement.
The addition of these routes marks another important step in the gradual recovery and expansion of Syria’s air connectivity. For travellers, especially those coming from Türkiye, the Gulf, or connecting through regional hubs, the new flights could make access to Aleppo and northern Syria easier and more direct.
Aleppo, one of Syria’s most historic cities, remains a major cultural and economic destination. Improved air links may support not only passenger travel, but also tourism, trade, family visits, and business movement between Syria and neighbouring countries.
The General Authority of Civil Aviation and Air Transport said it is continuing work to expand Syria’s international air network, increase the number of operating airlines, and attract more flights to Syrian airports.
For visitors planning to travel to Syria, flight availability should always be checked directly with the airline or travel provider before booking, as schedules may be updated.
