Starting Monday, all non-Lebanese travelers crossing into Lebanon by land, including from Syria, will be required to pay a new entry fee of 1,000,000 Lebanese Lira, which is about 11 USD.
This decision comes from the Lebanese General Security based on Law No. 90/1991, which allows for collecting a border entry fee from non-Lebanese nationals arriving by land. The fee will be collected through a revenue stamp placed on your passport or entry slip at the border.
Important notes for travelers:
- The entry conditions remain the same, only this new fee is added.
- Lebanese border officers will guide travelers on where to buy the stamp.
- The stamp must be attached to your entry documents and validated before proceeding.
So if you’re traveling from Syria or any other country into Lebanon by road, make sure to have 11 USD in local currency ready starting next week.
