Fly Cham Launches Jeddah Flights, Plans Medina Route
Fly Cham says its twice-weekly Damascus–Jeddah service is operating, with a separate weekly flight to Medina planned to begin on 4 November 2026.

There is another air travel option for passengers moving between Syria and Saudi Arabia. On Sunday, 1 November 2026, Syrian carrier Fly Cham announced that it had started regular flights between Damascus and Jeddah, operating twice a week. The announcement was reported by the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), quoting the airline’s representatives.
The airline also said it is preparing to begin a separate route from Damascus to Medina (Al Madinah) on Wednesday, 4 November 2026, with one flight per week. That second service is a planned launch, not yet confirmation that the inaugural Medina flight has taken place.

Jeddah is already connected to Damascus by other airlines, so this is an additional carrier on an established route, not the first direct flight between the two cities. The Medina announcement is especially useful for passengers who would prefer to travel directly to the holy city rather than transfer onward from Jeddah.
Fly Cham’s commercial director told SANA that Jeddah is the airline’s second Saudi station after Dammam, with Medina being prepared as its next destination. The company linked these flights to family visits, business connections and travel associated with Hajj and Umrah.
What does this mean for people visiting Syria?
For international visitors planning to travel to Syria, each new operating airline creates more options when choosing an arrival city or connecting journey. Travelers based in Saudi Arabia, as well as people passing through the kingdom, may find the additional Damascus service useful for planning a visit to relatives, a cultural trip or a Syrian Guides tour.
However, an airline route announcement does not change Syrian visa or entry-approval requirements. The documents needed to board a flight to Damascus can depend on the passenger’s nationality, passport and travel history. Saudi entry and transit requirements are separate, and passengers should check both countries’ rules before buying non-refundable flights.
SANA confirmed Fly Cham’s announcement of the twice-weekly Jeddah service and reported the proposed Medina launch date. It did not publish a complete flight timetable, ticket fares, flight numbers or a confirmed list of operating days. These details must be checked directly with the airline.
Before booking your flight
- Confirm the exact operating day, flight number and departure time with Fly Cham or your issuing agent.
- For Medina, check that the service has actually begun on or after 4 November before relying on it for a connection.
- Verify Syrian visa and advance entry-approval requirements for your nationality and arrival route. Our Syria visa guide explains the essentials.
- Check any Saudi visa, Umrah, onward-travel or transit requirements separately.
- Keep flexibility in your itinerary: air schedules can change, particularly on newly launched routes.
