Jordanian authorities have announced that the Jaber-Nassib border crossing with Syria will operate around the clock starting Sunday, March 23. The decision aims to facilitate trade and travel between the two neighboring countries.
According to Jordan’s state television, the Ministry of Interior confirmed the extended hours as part of broader efforts to enhance border infrastructure. Earlier this year, 3.7 million dinars were allocated to upgrade facilities and logistics at the crossing.
During a recent visit to the border, Jordan’s Minister of Interior, Mazen Al-Faraya, emphasized the significance of the project, stating that it will streamline movement for travelers and businesses. He also noted that since late last year, more than 44,000 Syrians have voluntarily returned home through the crossing.
The Jaber-Nassib crossing serves as a key transit point for trade, tourism, and humanitarian travel. Keeping it open 24/7 is expected to ease congestion and boost economic activity.
What This Means for Travelers
With the new schedule, travelers and truck drivers can cross the border at any time, reducing wait times and improving efficiency.
Authorities advise travelers to check border regulations and ensure they have the necessary documents before crossing.
