Damascus, February 20, 2025 – The Syrian Ministry of Interior announced today an increase in visa fees for tourists entering the country. The new fees range from $40 to $350, depending on nationality and type of entry. According to an official document issued by the Ministry of Interior, under the newly formed government, tourist entry visas will now be valid for a maximum stay of 15 days.
Additionally, the document confirmed that citizens of the following countries are exempt from visa requirements for a period of six months:
- Jordan
- Lebanon
- Malaysia
- Mauritania
In line with the fee adjustments, the following new visa fees apply to specific nationalities:
- Visa fee for Chinese citizens: $40
- Visa fee for Russian citizens: $75
- Visa fee for American citizens: $300
- Visa fee for British citizens: $250
It’s important to note that visa fees apply only to tourists flying directly into Damascus. Travelers entering the country by land won’t pay any fees for the time being.
