Great news for travelers! Qatar Airways is restarting flights to Damascus, Syria, after a 13-year break. It’s the first major airline from the Middle East (among Qatar Airways, Emirates, and Etihad) to fly to Syria again.
Starting Tuesday, January 7, the airline will offer three flights a week between Doha and Damascus. The schedule is as follows:
- Flight QR410: Leaves Doha at 8:35 AM and arrives in Damascus at 11:30 AM.
- Flight QR411: Departs Damascus at 1:30 PM and lands in Doha at 4:05 PM.
Why This Matters
For years, international flights to Damascus have been very limited. Only a few airlines, like Iranian and Iraqi carriers, have been flying to Syria. Syrian Air and Cham Wings Airlines also operate some regional routes, including to Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Doha.
Qatar Airways has now reopened this important route to help connect travelers to Syria’s rich history and culture. The airline has worked with officials to ensure safety and high standards for passengers.
What Qatar Airways Says
The airline’s CEO, Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, shared:
“We are excited to fly to Damascus again. It’s a city full of history and culture, and this decision shows our commitment to connecting people and making travel easier for everyone.”
If you’re planning to visit Syria, this new route makes it easier than ever to explore the country’s incredible historical sites, vibrant culture, and warm hospitality.
